Some players leave their mark on a game. Others leave their mark on a program. A rare few change what is possible for everyone who follows.

Jami Sloan is one of those players.

From 1986 through 1990, Sloan became a defining figure in Lebanon girls basketball and one of the most accomplished players of her generation. She made history as the first female basketball player in Lebanon High School history to be named an Indiana All-Star, opening a door that countless young athletes would walk through in the years that followed.

On the court, Sloan's brilliance was undeniable. She established 13 school records during her Tiger career and graduated as Lebanon's all-time leading scorer with 1,485 points. Her complete command of the game was reflected in 339 career assists and 184 career steals, numbers that showcased not only her ability to score, but her vision, toughness, and unselfishness.

Her individual excellence fueled team success. Sloan helped lead the Lebanon Tigers to three Sectional Championships, establishing a standard of excellence that would become part of the program's foundation. More importantly, she became a symbol of possibility for the young girls of Lebanon—proof that with talent, sacrifice, discipline, and belief, they too could compete at the highest levels.

But statistics alone cannot tell the story of Jami Sloan.

Her greatest legacy may have been the standard she set.

A fierce competitor known for her determination, focus, and relentless pursuit of excellence, Sloan understood that being an athlete meant more than what happened between the lines. She carried that same commitment into the classroom, graduating as Salutatorian of the Class of 1990 and embodying the highest ideals of a student-athlete.

Her journey continued at Butler University, where Sloan distinguished herself once again as a Bulldog. She finished her collegiate career with 923 points and 275 assists, ranking fifth all-time in Butler history in career assists. Her leadership, character, and commitment to excellence earned her the Butler Mental Attitude Award.

And she continued to achieve at the highest level beyond the basketball court, graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Pharmacy.

Jami Sloan's accomplishments are impressive.

Her influence is immeasurable.

She was a record-setter who became a champion.
A champion who became a trailblazer.
And a trailblazer whose example helped shape the future of girls basketball in Lebanon.

Long after the records are rewritten and the statistics fade, the significance of what Jami Sloan accomplished will remain.

She was the first. She set the standard. She showed the way.
